About the role

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is seeking an Environmental Investigator II to join our team in Midland.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts environmental investigations and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Reviews permit applications and ensures that they meet all applicable requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance to clients and stakeholders regarding environmental issues.
  • Prepares reports and documentation related to environmental investigations and inspections.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience in environmental compliance or enforcement.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $53,448.00 to $53,448.00 annually.
