Responsibilities

  • Lead employee experience initiatives designed to improve engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork, accountability, and employee recognition.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR-related questions, concerns, and workplace matters.
  • Maintain professional, responsive, and confidential communication with staff regarding human resources issues.
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and in accordance with company policies and wage and hour regulations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Process pre-employment requirements, including background checks, reference checks, employment verification, and new hire documentation.
  • Assist department managers with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, employee relations, and performance management activities.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Support employee retention efforts through engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and stay interviews.
  • Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and employee policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment-related laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with facility leadership to identify workforce challenges and develop solutions that support operational goals.
  • Participate in audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews related to human resources functions.
  • Perform other HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior Human Resources experience within a nursing center, skilled nursing facility, long-term care, post-acute care, or healthcare setting required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and gain trust and support from employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour compliance, labor relations, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, privacy regulations, and other applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience processing payroll and maintaining HRIS systems preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related software systems.
