About the role
The Human Resources Coordinator provides front-line administrative and transactional HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job changes, transfers, and separations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR customer service inquiries from employees and managers via various communication channels. Escalate complex issues as needed.
- Support the full onboarding process for new hires, including document collection, system setup, and facilitating new hire orientation.
- Process employee separations, including termination entries in HRIS platforms, final pay coordination, and offboarding checklist completion.
- Maintain and update vacation/sick leave accruals within HR systems.
- Generate and run standard HR reports to support audits, compliance, and team reporting needs.
- Affiliate with leave of absence administration, including tracking and updating leave status.
- Support re-organizational efforts by initiating and processing moves within HRIS platforms.
- Act as quality assurance and approve/reject job changes entered by the business or HR colleagues.
- Maintain organized and accurate employee files in compliance with company policy and regulations.
- Prepare and distribute HR correspondence such as employment verification letters and status change notices.
- Affiliate with HR team coverage across assigned business units and coordinate cross-entity transactions.
- Affiliate with data gathering and preparation for audits, organizational changes, and system migrations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives for administrative efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or 2+ years of relevant experience).
- Experience: 1–2 years of administrative or HR support experience.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday or JD Edwards preferred; experience with utilities industry a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
