We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Human Resources Coordinator in New York. With the three business segments of Airline Catering, International Event Catering, and Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, we offer gourmet entertainment all over the world. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the HR department and employees, delivering exceptional service and hospitality to all staff members.
- Manage the HR inbox, phone lines, and mail; escalate inquiries to appropriate HR personnel when necessary.
- Respond to employee HR-related questions or direct them to the appropriate point of contact promptly.
- Support the entire employee lifecycle including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Administer and respond to all unemployment claims, including requests for hearings and rebuttals.
- Ensure all termination-related paperwork is accurately completed and properly filed.
- Assist with tracking and correspondence related to employee Leaves of Absence and associated payments.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, including completion of Form I-9 for employment eligibility verification.
- Process and respond to inquiries and documentation requests for Workers' Compensation claims, employment verifications, wage verifications, national medical support notices, and legal subpoenas.
- Track HR vendor contracts and process invoices in collaboration with Accounts Payable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data.
- Assist with timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll processing functions.
- Support compliance-related reporting and maintain required documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team and contribute to departmental projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of HR experience, ideally in a large or multi-unit organization.
- Solid understanding of HR policies, employment law, and HR best practices.
- Experience using HRIS and payroll systems; Ceridian/Dayforce experience preferred.
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in the union environment, food service, hospitality, or airline industry is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally between company locations.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
