This position will be resident in our Chicago office and will work closely with and provide support to the Human Resources Business Partners (“HRBP”) in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ongoing professional interaction and communication with all HR department and Firm personnel is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the HRBPs to ensure various HR processes, tasks, reports, and documents are completed with high quality and within deadlines.
- Support the administration of the annual performance and compensation review processes, including coordinating communications, assisting with testing and setup in partnership with the HRIS team, and scheduling related meetings.
- Prepare and communicate compensation changes, bonus payments, and PTO/vacation payouts to Payroll and HRIS for processing each pay cycle.
- Compile relevant data for participation in third-party annual compensation surveys.
- Coordinate the Firm’s service award program, including identifying monthly recipients, communicating with award recipients, and working with Payroll to facilitate reward distribution.
- Conduct exit interviews with departing Business Services Professionals and escalate trends, concerns, or sensitive matters to the HRBPs as appropriate.
- Coordinate HR Department and Regional Talent Team meetings, including agenda development, presentation preparation, technology support, and participant management.
- Assist with maintaining and updating HR-related content on the Firm’s intranet.
- Provide project coordination and administrative support for HR initiatives and special projects.
- Prepare reports, metrics, and other ad hoc analyses as requested.
- Serve as backup support for the HR Assistant, including new hire onboarding activities and the preparation and distribution of HR notifications.
- Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ Human Resources experience in a coordinator, administrative, or support capacity, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and proactively communicate progress or concerns.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed.
Pay
Chicago Only: $63,000 - $75,000 (DOE)
