Our UPMC Physician Services Division HR team is excited to announce a regular, full-time Human Resources Consultant position with a weekly hybrid schedule and occasional regional travel.
About the role
The HR Consultant will independently provide strategic human resources support to clinical and non-clinical departments across the Physician Services Division. Daily responsibilities include supporting staff and managers with employee relations, handling investigations and corrective action, driving retention and engagement initiatives, and partnering with leaders on coaching and mentorship. The role may also involve HR projects and participation in employee work groups or committees.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a collaborative One Team atmosphere.
- Drive change management practices to enable organizational effectiveness, incorporating diversity & inclusion strategies to foster a culture of inclusion.
- Facilitate cultural integration planning and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and commitment.
- Independently partner with leaders on all HR and business functions, providing a consultative approach to address issues proactively.
- Coach leaders to accelerate leadership effectiveness and facilitate leader assimilation (new hires, talent acquisition, and internal movement).
- Participate in local or organization-wide committees focused on projects that advance strategic goals.
- Contribute to business and HR functions by identifying, prioritizing, and building organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
- Foster HR Business Partner relationships by gaining in-depth knowledge of business objectives and providing strategic counsel and analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field and at least one year of employee relations experience, OR
- High School Diploma/GED and three years of employee relations experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification, or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification.
Schedule
Full-time, hybrid schedule with occasional regional travel.
