Human Resources Compliance Specialist
Principle Responsibilities
- Maintains and supports the establishment of critical multi-state regulatory policies and practices to ensure compliance and support the organization on matters relating to compliance strategies.
- Acts as a strategic thought partner to ensure operational processes and system setups are in place to support these requirements and assess opportunities for process improvement, along with the establishment of controls and reporting as needed.
- Ensures that all employee compliance information is complete, tracked, and scanned into employee electronic file.
- Answers and routes responses from business units regarding job and regulatory requirements.
- Completes, verifies, supports, and audits the internal and external processes related to: Background checks, DHS, I-9s, Immigration, Psychotherapy Sexual Exploitation, and License, certification, and driver’s license renewal process.
- Ensures regulatory compliance by adhering to, maintaining, and offering improvements to regulatory compliance within identified target dates.
- Periodically runs reports and audits of HR files to ensure all required documents meet compliance standards.
- Create reports utilizing internal systems and programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for I-9 management and I-9 verification issues.
- Oversee execution of compliance requirements and serve as the escalation point involving regulatory matters and job requirements.
- Support document retrieval for regulatory audits from Department of Human Services, The Joint Commission, and Department of Transportation.
- Recognizes continuous improvement opportunities and provide insight to leadership.
- Schedule, coordinate, and assist with meeting planning and coordination.
- Compile metrics and reporting data for statistical reporting as well as preparing and distributing reports.
- Process expenses and invoices with external vendors and accounts payable.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
- 2+ years Human Resources or HR Compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or related discipline preferred
Physical Demands
- Sedentary: lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently
- 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
- 8-hour day shifts
- No weekends
- Remote position; must reside within commuting distance of Allina Commons, Minneapolis MN
Pay Range
Pay Range: $26.07 to $35.72 per hour
