About The Team
The Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) team enhances and protects Citi's reputation through communication with various stakeholders, including colleagues. The Global Communications team, part of ESPA, handles diverse responsibilities such as executive communications, public engagements, quarterly earnings, corporate reputation programs, and line-of-business communications. The team collaborates with senior leadership and other ESPA members worldwide.
About The Role
The Vice President of Human Resources Communications is a key member of Citi’s Global Communications team within ESPA. Reporting to the Director of HR Communications, this role involves supporting HR communication needs, developing and executing communications strategies, and working with HR and Communications teams.
Responsibilities
- Support communications strategy, development, and tactical execution to enhance and drive awareness of key HR initiatives among Citi colleagues and key stakeholders, covering topics like benefits, compensation, performance management, learning and development.
- Develop a range of communication materials, including written and video messages, talking points, town hall preparations, social posts, etc.
- Maintain HR channels, including newsletters and HR pages on Citi’s intranet site.
- Monitor and analyze feedback and engagement rates with HR communications.
- Support executive leaders and partners in driving consistent messaging that has the right tone and information, being clear, conversational, and engaging.
- Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with colleagues while leveraging primary web, video, and town hall channels.
- Support external communications needs, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or another related field.
- 7+ years of increased responsibility, preferably with a large and complex organization.
- Experience with managing content for corporate channels including newsletters and intranet sites.
- A leader who implements initiatives effectively and motivates others.
- Strong communications (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and influencing senior executives.
- Ability to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and avoid wordiness, corporate jargon, and flat prose.
- Ability to learn complex financial and business topics quickly and translate them into compelling narratives.
- Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude.
- A team player who implements initiatives effectively and motivates others to carry out their work.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization.
