Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) - Manufacturing
Brief Description
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports Steelcrest Precision (formally Wauseon Machine) manufacturing operations by providing strategic and hands-on HR guidance to leaders and employees. This role drives workforce planning, employee relations, talent development, and HR compliance while fostering a positive, high-performance culture aligned with company goals.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for manufacturing employees and supervisors, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Partner with operations leadership to forecast staffing needs, support recruitment efforts, and improve retention strategies for hourly and skilled-trade roles.
- Guide leaders through coaching, corrective action, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Identify skill gaps, coordinate training programs, and support leadership development for frontline supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and safety standards.
- Track key HR metrics (turnover, attendance, staffing levels) and provide insights to improve operational performance.
- Support organizational changes, new processes, and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
- Partner with team to reinforce a safe, compliant, and engaged workplace culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of HR experience, in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
- Proven ability to build trust with hourly employees and plant leadership.
- Experience supporting shift-based or 24/7 operations is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Able to work on the production floor regularly and maintain visibility with employees.
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
