About the Role

This position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management at our Clayton and Marshfield Plant locations. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues, acting as a champion and change agent through consultation, service, and day-to-day HR support.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations:
    • Respond to employee concerns and provide guidance to managers to ensure effective application of company policies and procedures.
    • Investigate root causes of employee relations issues and develop strategies to address or reduce them.
  • Talent Management:
    • Implement and manage organizational programs related to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning.
    • Work closely with HR and management to identify immediate and long-term skills needs and develop strategies to attain them.
    • Analyze employee turnover, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve morale, attitude, and retention.
    • Partner with HR and business leaders to forecast staffing levels related to planned and unplanned turnover.
    • Develop annual workforce plans and partner with the recruiting team to ensure locations have the talent needed to operate efficiently.
  • Business Partnership:
    • Participate in the development and execution of department goals, objectives, and systems that impact HR initiatives and overall business plans.
    • Facilitate effective communication between HR and business leaders to provide visibility into HR initiatives and employee issues.
    • Drive employee engagement through action planning, communication, and talent development.
    • Coach business leaders on key HR policies and processes, including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management.
    • Help plan and execute organizational effectiveness projects to streamline structures, roles, and processes.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to steer appropriate HR initiatives in a timely and professional manner.
  • Labor Relations (Field HRBPs):
    • Coordinate strike contingency planning.
    • Assist in preparation for the expiration of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), including data gathering, recommendations, and active participation in negotiations.
    • Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and non-union work agreements.
    • Represent the company in grievance and arbitration matters.

Requirements

  • 5 years of human resources experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a generalist or business partner capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong labor relations experience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Effective coaching and counseling skills for leaders.
  • Talent management experience, including performance management and career development.
  • Experience facilitating groups (e.g., training, orientation, calibration).
  • Ability to analyze data and use it to make recommendations.

Work Location

This position will primarily reside at our Clayton, WI Plant location with travel to our Marshfield, WI Plant. Occasional travel to the corporate office in Middleton, WI is required.
