About the role

The HRIS / HR Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department while serving as the primary administrator for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role ensures the integrity of employee data, supports HR processes, provides reporting and analytics, and handles all other assigned HR generalist duties.

Pay Range: $30.75–$46.13 per hour

Responsibilities

  • HRIS Administration
    • Maintain and administer the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Troubleshoot HRIS issues and coordinate with UKG to optimize system use and resolve problems.
    • Support system upgrades, testing, implementations, and process improvements.
    • Develop and maintain HRIS documentation, procedures, and user training materials.
  • Human Resources Operations
    • Maintain personnel files in compliance with DNV requirements and MRH record-retention policy.
    • File documents promptly and accurately.
    • Track licensure, competencies, certifications, and mask fits; notify managers and employees of due dates.
    • Maintain tracking for performance evaluations.
    • Respond to employee HR inquiries and manage the MRH HR mailbox daily.
    • Migrate license, certification, competencies, and mask-fit tracking into UKG.
    • Assist with performance management, employee engagement, and recognition programs.
    • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
    • Audit personnel files monthly for compliance.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
    • Assist with HR audits and regulatory reporting.
    • Maintain accurate documentation per company policies and legal requirements.
    • Monitor HR metrics and recommend process improvements.
  • Organization-Wide Expectations

    • Maintain regulatory compliance and patient confidentiality.

    • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
    • Follow infection-control, safety, and risk-management policies.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • At least one year of Human Resources experience with significant HRIS administration responsibilities.
    • Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms.
    • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certification
    • Human Resources Certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and leading practices.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages encouraged.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Comprehensive HRIS and computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, database management, and healthcare-related software.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities, and follow through to accomplish results.
    • Knowledge of healthcare recruiting and hospital operations.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple group dynamics.
    • Ability to manage stress, handle multiple priorities, and make decisions under pressure.
    • Commitment to collaboration and building consensus.

Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Biohazards: Category II – tasks typically involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but may require performing unplanned Category I tasks.
