Human Resources Associate

About the Role

Under the direction of the Human Resources (HR) Manager, the HR Associate performs functions to support the HR team, including hourly payroll and accounts payable administration, onboarding, processing unemployment, maintaining company training and personnel files, assisting with recruiting, and other HR office functions as needed. This position requires frequent contact with personnel inside and outside the company, demanding tact, discretion, interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Partners with corporate to maintain plantwide hourly payroll processes by ensuring team members' time is accurate and submitted in a timely manner; assists with troubleshooting questions.
• Creates and maintains purchase orders (POs) for the plant.
• Assists with setting up new vendors in the system.
• Serves as a backup for recruitment.
• Assists with new hire orientation as needed.
• Serves as a backup for routing facility calls and directs visitors arriving at the Irving facility.
• Acts as a backup contact for visitors and vendors entering the facility.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate Degree OR 1+ years in an administrative support role or supporting internal or external customers.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
• Proficient in both English and Spanish.
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other email software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in food processing/manufacturing.
• Prior HR or administrative experience.

Work Environment

The role operates in an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels. Physical demands include primarily sitting, with little to no lifting or other physical requirements. The position is subject to extended periods of sitting, working on a PC, and talking on the telephone.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check is required. Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory; the company does not provide work sponsorship for employment visas.
