About the role

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of **Human Resources Analyst I/II** in the Human Resources Department. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a broad range of complex and professional analytical duties in support of a centralized human resources, organizational services and risk management office.

  • Diverse training for new and current staff
  • Employee records and data systems accuracy and support
  • Initial labor and employee relations
  • Provide overall advice to supervisors and managers on all aspects of human resources policies, practices and procedures
  • Safety and risk management support
  • Cooking and benefits coordination
  • Research and analysis of laws and regulations for compliance of human resources functions

Requirements

  • Human resources professional with experience in protected leave administration, including Family and Medical Leave Act/California Family Rights Act, Americans with Disability Act/Fair Employment Housing Act, Pregnancy Disability Leave, military leave and related federal and state leave laws
  • Skilled in managing leave cases, engaging in the interactive process, and ensuring legal compliance while providing exceptional customer service
  • Knowledgeable in interpreting and applying employment laws, regulations, policies, and HR best practices
  • Able to advise supervisors and managers on leave management, employee relations, accommodations, and other human resources matters
  • Experienced in conducting research, analyzing various issues, and developing practical, compliant solutions
  • Proficient in maintaining confidential employee records, ensuring data integrity, and utilizing HR information systems
  • Able to manage multiple cases in a disciplined and timely manner and meet various deadlines within the specified structure
  • Effective communicator with experience providing training and guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality and equitable application of policies
  • Buils collaborative relationships and fosters a positive, service-oriented approach while balancing employee needs with organizational objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelors degree from an accredited college with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration, industrial relations, economics, or a related field, and one (1) year of human resources experience. Relevant analytical experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Preferred: In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience in human resources administration that includes recruitment, benefits, classification, compensation, and/or interpreting human resources policies; or possession of a valid SPHR/PHR certification.

Skills

  • Knowledge of risk management, cost analysis, and/or employee safety, or experience in a public agency setting is desirable.
