Human Resources Administrative Support Coordinator
Job Summary
The HR Administrative Support Coordinator performs a variety of routine to complex administrative responsibilities to support the Human Resources and Payroll Department. The incumbent must be familiar with the basic workflow of Human Resources functions including benefits, employment, recruitment, classification, compensation, and Payroll processes.
- Coordinate administrative support functions for multiple HR and Payroll programs
- Department budget responsibilities
- Front-facing customer service responsibilities
- Develop and enhance documents using advanced software (i.e. Adobe programs and/or DocuSign)
- Perform administrative duties and project work and coordination related to university programs, policies, and procedures
- Serve as primary contact and/or resource to the public and university constituents
Key Qualifications
- Functional knowledge of and skill in standard office methods, procedures and standard practices, including principles of providing customer service
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate professionally both orally and in writing
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems, and packages (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Sign, Google email and calendar, etc.)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills to serve as front-line for a variety of high-level campus and community individuals
- Able to maintain confidentiality with regard to sensitive written and electronic records
- Able to coordinate clerical and administrative support functions including training student assistants
- Able to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist, with the ability to problem-solve as needed or refer such issues to higher authority as appropriate
- Able to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, multiple shifting priorities, and critical deadlines while consistently providing quality customer service
- Able to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and the general public from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Provide accurate information and data for review regarding program service delivery and activities in meeting programmatic goals and enhancing processes
Education and Experience
- Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or equivalent
- Four years of progressively responsible administrative support experience or related
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited college
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Resources and/or PageUp software
- Working knowledge of multiple HR functions and processes
Benefits
The anticipated salary hiring range is $4,367- $4,543 per month (Steps 1 – 3), commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is $4,367 - $6,362 per month. This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position. The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year.
