About the role
NeurAbilities Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resource Specialist to join our skilled HR team. This role involves managing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, and supporting various HR functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding for assigned regions, including new hire paperwork, scheduling, and HRIS documentation
- Oversee background checks, clearances, references, and license/education verification, ensuring proactive compliance communication with employees and managers
- Cross-functionally coordinate to deliver a smooth first-day experience
- Process onboarding data entry and maintain accurate employee records across HR systems
- Conduct new hire and monthly file audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Complete regulatory reporting
- Train hiring managers on onboarding processes and compliance requirements
- Partner with talent acquisition, operations, and payroll, handling confidential information with discretion
- Escalate employee relations issues to leadership as needed
- Recommend process improvements to enhance employee experience and HR efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years in HR/talent management, or 2+ years in an HR role
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and confidentiality standards (including HIPAA)
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional communication and ethical mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HRIS software
Qualifications
