About the role
The Kentucky Department of Parks is seeking a Human Resource Specialist to support the Human Resources Administration Branch with personnel and payroll processing for Kentucky State Parks.
Responsibilities
- Track personnel actions and server tip reports by keying data accurately in established tracking systems.
- Provide support to the HR Manager by drafting HR-related correspondence, mailing certified letters to employees and other HR documents, and reviewing internal approval forms for missing data.
- Prepares and processes human resource actions, timesheets, payroll, and benefits actions in KHRIS.
- Compile personnel and payroll reports.
- Aid in coordinating and attending job fairs.
- Aid HR Management with HR-related training.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Experience: One year of professional experience in personnel administration, business administration or management.
- Substitute Education for Experience: None.
- Substitute Experience for Education: Administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.
- Special Requirements: None.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of KHRIS or experience working in other human resource information systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain adaptable, demonstrate empathy, and active listening skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to keep up with multiple deadlines.
Skills

Pay
Salary range: $2,976.04 - $4,464.04 Monthly
