Human Resource Director
About the role
Grandvue Medical Care Facility is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to lead our HR function and help shape the employee experience. This is a hands-on, highly visible leadership position with a lot of variety. In addition to traditional HR responsibilities, this role plays an important part in recruitment, community outreach, marketing, and telling the Grandvue story.
Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, retention, and employee engagement efforts.
- Oversee benefits, leave programs, payroll coordination, and compensation practices.
- Support labor relations, including contract administration, grievances, and collective bargaining.
- Advise Department Heads on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, facility requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Coordinate policies, job descriptions, employee orientation, and regulatory documentation.
- Develop creative recruitment and retention strategies and represent Grandvue at job fairs, community events, and other outreach opportunities.
- Help promote Grandvue through marketing, social media, community relations, and other creative communication efforts.
- Participate as a member of the Leadership Team and support organizational initiatives, budgeting, and governing board responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Experienced and knowledgeable in human resources, employment law, and employee relations.
- A strong communicator who can build relationships with employees and leaders at every level.
- Organized, thoughtful, and comfortable handling confidential and sensitive situations.
- Experienced with payroll and benefits administration; healthcare or long-term care experience is preferred.
- Creative and willing to think beyond traditional HR approaches, particularly when it comes to recruitment, retention, and promoting Grandvue.
- Comfortable working independently while also being an active member of a leadership team.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with at least five years of progressively responsible HR or related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
