About the Role

The Hubbell Rotation Program (HRP) is a three-year program for new college graduates designed to provide accelerated exposure across various Finance and Accounting disciplines. Participants complete three rotations tailored to their interests and business needs, building financial and business acumen while preparing for future Finance leadership at Hubbell. The program offers high visibility, dedicated mentorship, and a strong peer network.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Drive and support strategic and long-term financial planning
    • Support forecasting activities, including the annual operating plan
    • Perform monthly variance analysis and support financial reporting
    • Prepare monthly presentations to communicate results
  • Controllership:
    • Support monthly/quarterly closing activities (journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations)
    • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and GAAP
    • Drive control improvements
  • Investor Relations:
    • Prepare presentations for earnings releases, board meetings, and conferences
    • Monitor financial markets and peer performance
    • Research and analyze industry trends and competitor activity
    • Support communication strategies to build stakeholder relationships
  • Accounting Services:
    • Drive cash collections, track payments, and manage banking deposits
    • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices
    • Control expenses and complete payments
  • Operations Finance:
    • Support reporting and analysis of key monthly manufacturing and cost accounting metrics
    • Act as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams
    • Drive insights from trends related to manufacturing performance
  • Corporate Development:
    • Support M&A activities and divestitures
    • Assist with financial modeling and due diligence
    • Research potential markets and acquisition targets for strategic fit
  • Tax:
    • Review tax liability and maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
    • Assist with company tax filings and monitor compliance
    • Identify opportunities for tax savings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and ability to manage evolving priorities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive successful outcomes
