About the role

The Hub Manager of Watco Logistics oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse, organizes schedules for team members, hires and trains new warehouse team members, conducts performance evaluations, manages discipline and termination, oversees safety, leads the team to deliver high levels of service and cost-effective practices, sets up warehouse layout, enforces operational and safety policies, adheres to warehousing legislation, maintains health, safety, hygiene, and security standards, recruits and contracts 1099 Independent Contractors, plans work rotations, assigns tasks, and produces regular reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouse
  • Organize schedules for team members to ensure proper staffing on all shifts
  • Hire and train new warehouse team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Manage the discipline and termination of team members as needed in accordance with the company policy
  • Oversee safety across facility campus inclusive of team members, visitors, and suppliers
  • Manage performance on safe transportation, distribution, and maintenance operations
  • Lead transportation and warehouse team to deliver high levels of service and cost-effective practices
  • Setup warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational and safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
  • Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security
  • Recruit and contract 1099 Independent Contractors
  • Plan work rotations, assign tasks to team members appropriately, and appraise results
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate team members
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly

Qualifications

  • Warehouse Inventory and management knowledge recommended inclusive of procedures and best practices
  • Current forklift license or ability to obtain one
  • Experience in transportation modes inclusive of, but not limited to full truck load, less than truck load, parcel, and expedite
  • Ability to engage in oral and written communication effectively with team members and customers
  • Basic computer skills - Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Develop understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
  • Develop understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management System)

Skills

  • Knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills

Pay

$61,000 - 66,500 / year
