About the role

The HTST Operator I is responsible for the preparation of raw milk to be used in cheese production. Key responsibilities include:

• Pasteurize, standardize and condense milk in preparation for use in cheese production.
• Maintain the flow of raw milk into balance tanks, through pasteurizing heaters, separators, and evaporators.
• Condense milk and transfer it to horizontal cheese vats for cheese production.
• Monitor and regulate milk solids, cream fats, and temperature based on the type of cheese to be produced.

Pay and Schedule

The starting wage is $25.86 per hour, with two pay increases within the first year up to $1.00 and $1.50. Shift Differential and Double Time on Sundays are also provided.

Schedule

The schedule is flexible but includes shifts that may require weekend and evening work.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

• An adequate knowledge of French for positions in Quebec.
