HSS Orthopedics Now - Flex Advanced Practice Provider

About the role

The HSS Orthopedics Now program provides immediate access for patients 12 years and older with musculoskeletal injuries or sudden onset of pain. The role involves seeing patients autonomously, in collaboration with HSS physicians, to diagnose and treat acute musculoskeletal injuries.

Responsibilities

• Triage and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal injuries
• Treat patients with injections, aspirations, and casting as needed
• Refer patients to higher levels of care when necessary
• Collaborate with MDs, PAs, NPs, and RNs for advice and care planning
• Provide compassionate, empathetic, and culturally sensitive care
• Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care strategies

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
• Active license in New York
• Certified by NCCPA or American Board of Nursing Specialties
• Experience in musculoskeletal/orthopedic practice
• Experience with injections, aspirations, and casting

Qualifications

• Completed ACLS and BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Completed child abuse recognition course
• Experience with electronic health record (EPIC)
