About the role

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our world-class Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team. In this role, you will serve as the lead clinical decision-maker, assuming primary responsibility for the acute management of pediatric musculoskeletal injuries. You will provide expert, front-line care for patients requiring immediate intervention—bridging the gap between injury and recovery without the need for an ER visit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management in the urgent care.

  • Assess and treat patients, obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order/interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.

  • Partner with department attending physicians, specialists, and other health care team members to deliver safe, high-quality care.

  • Direct or participate in case management and continuing care to ensure seamless patient transitions.

  • Contribute to departmental quality improvement projects and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the medical team.

Seattle Children's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Our team specializes in everything from fracture care and sports injuries to complex conditions like scoliosis, hip dysplasia, and limb differences. Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.

  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials

  • Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.

  • Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington. Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Preferred

  • Two years experience in advanced practice provider role.

  • Two years experience in pediatric health care.

Compensation Range

$137,321 - $201,961 per year
