Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients presenting with acute and urgent musculoskeletal conditions.
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret imaging and other diagnostic studies.
- Develop treatment plans and provide non-operative management when appropriate.
- Perform procedures within scope of practice (splinting, injections, wound care).
- Identify conditions requiring urgent surgical or specialty consultation.
- Cook up seamless referrals to orthopaedic subspecialists.
- Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nursing, therapy, and ancillary services.
Requirements
- Orthopedic experience is highly preferred.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or a Master's in Nursing.
- New Jersey Physician Assistant license; Physician Assistant - NCCPA & Assistant; American Heart Association BLS certification required.
