About the Team
The HSSE team is responsible for maintaining environmental and safety compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support the HSSE Supervisor/Manager with the development and implementation of policies, programs, and procedures for compliance with HSSE requirements of the company and regulatory agencies (local, state/provincial, and national).
- Support the site with achievement of HSSE objectives and targets.
- Support in the recognition, evaluation, and control of work processes with potential hazard/risk exposures relative to safety and the environment.
- Act as security coordinator—establish and maintain security programs that contain significant and potential security risks.
- Conduct initial hazard/risk assessments and re-assessments of operations.
- Conduct various safety and environmental related sampling and analysis procedures as defined in operation protocols, procedures, and work instructions.
- Support with managing HSSE-related documentation as directed.
- Assist with various HSSE-related audits and inspections.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and/or additional certifications (EMT preferred).
- 2–5 years of related experience in manufacturing safety.
- Working knowledge of EPA and/or OSHA regulations and all other regulatory governance.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to effectively interface with internal and external personnel.
- Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) knowledge.
- English language competency.
- Basic knowledge of sustainability tasks and projects (cost savings, energy waste, and water reduction).
