Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HSE resource for facility leadership, providing guidance and support on health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Develop, implement, and maintain practical HSE processes, programs, and initiatives that reduce operational risk.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of the EPS Global HSE Management System.
- Monitor HSE performance metrics and recommend corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements.
- Aid in developing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Cook up and deliver HSE training programs to employees and leadership teams.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, communication, and awareness campaigns.
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across multiple facility locations as required.
Job Duties
- Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls.
- Develop and maintain health and safety plans, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Conduct HSE meetings and communicate performance, goals, and improvement opportunities.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements.
- Aid in the development of HSE policies and training materials.
- Travel as needed to support business operations and training requirements.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related technical field strongly desired.
- Minimum three (3) years of HSE experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Must be willing to travel between Youngstown, OH and Bridgeport, WV. Additional travel may be required at times to attend trainings, meetings, and support business needs.
- Experience developing HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Strong hazard identification, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, training, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and work with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
