About the role

Dover Precision Components is hiring a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist for our Cook Compression brand, located at our Jeffersonville, Indiana ISO certified manufacturing facility. We are part of Dover Corporation, a $7.7 billion global company known for stability and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance reviews, general risk assessments, JSA and other safety assessments to support HSE program management.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from the result of hazard assessment.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Cook with Global HSE team on development and implementation of hazardous material procedure and policies.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation ensuring compliance of applicable laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Investigate near misses and High Potential Incidents (HPI) to drive improvement in our health and safety management.
  • Develop and conduct local HSE meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Communicate HSE programs, policies, and procedures as needed, providing advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure that all HSE programs are implemented and effective.
  • Evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance.
  • Absorb contractors/vendors working on site are in compliance with Dover Precision Components’ policies and safety requirements.
  • Absorb with maintaining Emergency Action Plans and Procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance standards.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.

Qualifications

  • Prior work within a union environment is a plus.
  • Strong presentation and influential skills.
  • Experience in similar manufacturing settings- made to order precision, manufactured components.
  • BS/BA degree in business (preferred).
