HSE Representative - Night Shift
Reporting to the Manager, HSE, the HSE Representative (Night Shift) advises, assists, leads, and coaches management and employees in implementing the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and policies. This role develops, implements, and sustains HSE policies, procedures, and programs to drive incidents and injuries to "zero" while ensuring compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work in an industrial workshop environment
- Coach and correct employee safety behaviors/actions
- Coordinate safety audits and meetings (monthly shop/facility inspection audits, fall protection audits, ladder audits, sling/rigging audits, etc.)
- Coordinate and/or take minutes from meetings (Safety Committee, Monthly Safety Meeting, Focus Group Meeting)
- Add actions from audits and meetings to action item database
- Set up drug/alcohol testing for new hires
- Manage Short Service Employee list
- Keep up with evacuation lists (e.g., new hires, transfers)
- Build and send out Daily Safety topics
- Assist with management of Prescription Safety Glasses program
- Assist with management of SDS for Telge Facility
- Assist with management of waste pickups
- Collect monthly paint/solvent usage data for Emissions Inventory calculations
- Enter testing results (e.g., stormwater, sand from blasting)
- Oversee onsite contractor work staff
- Other duties as needed or directed by Manager/Supervisor
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years’ HSE experience in manufacturing environments or other industries such as exploration & production, gas plant operations, refining, petrochemical, or chemical processing
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or industrial health-related field. 7 years of industry experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Experience with emergency response procedures, including ICS and EMS coordination
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and safe driving record with ability to drive to company and customer locations in the regional area
- Flexibility with working hours, which may include hours outside of normal scheduled work hours
- Strong planner/organizer; takes initiative; adapts quickly to change; high level of work standard
- Excellent judgment; ability to solve problems, develop/implement solutions, and resolve complex situations
- Acts with integrity, open/honest communication, respecting others, and working collaboratively
- Excellent communication abilities to engage employees and contractors at all levels
- Positive attitude with the desire to continue learning
- High level of organization and attention to detail

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to reside in West Texas throughout the year

- Ability to work individually and in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Ability to use discretion with confidential information
- Works with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorship or transfer not available)
Physical Requirements
Work environment consists mainly of an operating plant environment. The HSE Representative will work 30% of the time in an air-conditioned office and 70% (dependent on facility needs) of the time on the Production Shop floor or yard with no air-conditioning.
