An integral member of a project team, dedicated to the health and well-being of others. This role facilitates Sundt HS&E programs and includes three progression steps (I, II, and Sr.) based on skill and experience. Step I is entry-level, Step II manages small to medium projects, and Sr. manages larger, more complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts frequent safety walks/inspections of the project and adjacent property.
  • Conducts site-specific safety orientations.
  • Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Environmental Management Plan.
  • Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Safety Management Plan.
  • Facilitates the Sundt Safety Management and Illness Prevention Systems Manual on the project.
  • Manages emergencies, incidents, and worker's compensation claims.
  • Reviews and files project safety documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma minimum; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of full-time project safety experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (proper grammar, spelling, etc.).
  • High level of integrity for reporting incidents and upholding company policy.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Ability to use various computer software and apps proficiently.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Vertical construction experience preferred.
  • Preferred certifications (not required): STSC, CHST, ASP, CSP.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Occasionally climbs stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.
  • Will lift, push, or pull objects on an occasional basis.
  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.

This is a safety-sensitive role, which includes tasks that could affect the safety and health of the employee or others, such as operating equipment, handling hazardous materials, or working with flammable/combustible materials.
