About the Role
The HSE Manager provides account leadership and functional development and implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) culture and associated programs, aligned with Group and NAM requirements and objectives across multiple account sites. The successful candidate will implement programs ensuring zero impact on the client’s operations. This role partners with Facilities Managers (FM) on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities and collaborates to maintain current ISS standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to maintain a safe work environment consistent with regulatory, company, and client requirements.
- Review and oversee work processes and conditions to optimize HSEQ protective measures.
- Develop and implement strategic solutions and continual improvement of HSE strategies, management systems, and programs.
- Monitor key metrics and KPIs to drive culture and operational excellence, including trending injury, illness, and incident performance.
- Participate in and facilitate investigations of incidents and nonconformities, developing Corrective Action Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and tracking completion.
- Communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to management and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Monitor compliance with regulations and conformance with company and client standards.
- Communicate effectively across the organization and participate in project groups and meetings.
- Coach and develop associates within assigned teams.
- Support and sustain ISS management systems.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing service quality.
- Perform internal audits to ensure client and ISS conformance.
- Provide inspection readiness for regulatory inspections.
- Promote safety consciousness through data, meetings, feedback, and visible support of safety programs.
- Perform site-level observations and risk assessments, developing recommendations for improvement.
- Support business unit operators in utilizing HSE-related software.
- Provide direct support during account acquisition, transition, or refresh, including direction on HSE requirements.
- Track regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices, updating programs and documentation as needed.
- Act as an HSEQ subject matter expert and safety resource to staff and employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements, including OSHA and other agencies; Canadian regulatory knowledge preferred.
- 7+ years of experience delivering HSE programs in large, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to translate business objectives and strategies into operational programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to address complex issues sensitively.
- High level of organization and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001, 9001, HACCP, and GMP systems; certified ISO auditor is an asset.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to travel 10%-20%.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Extended periods of walking on premises.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak periods.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $111,900 – $134,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills.
