Join a team building tomorrow’s energy infrastructure. If you’re passionate about safety leadership, thrive in the field, and want to play a hands-on role in delivering some of the most exciting renewable energy projects in the country, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

As TotalEnergies accelerates development and construction of its U.S. onshore Solar portfolio, strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) governance is essential to delivering projects safely, compliantly, and responsibly. In this role, you will serve as the Owner’s Representative for HSE during construction of all projects, helping protect people, assets, and project performance. Your presence in the field, engagement with contractors, and leadership by example will directly support a proactive safety culture aligned with TotalEnergies’ core value: “Safety for me, for you, for all.” This is a highly visible, field-based role focused on construction safety performance, contractor governance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities for wind project construction, including turbine erection, heavy lifts, crane operations, electrical work, and Balance of Plant (BOP) activities
  • Ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance with TotalEnergies MAESTRO standards, contractual HSE requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Review, validate, and approve HSE documentation, including HSE plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), lift plans, and method statements
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and field verifications; track findings and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitor HSE performance indicators (KPIs) and provide routine reporting to project and regional leadership
  • Lead or support incident investigations, near-miss reviews, and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Support regulatory, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements throughout construction activities
  • Participate in and support HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety moments, and emergency preparedness drills
  • Actively promote a strong and proactive safety culture aligned with TotalEnergies’ values: “Safety for me, for you, for all”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of HSE experience on construction projects, preferably within the wind energy sector
  • Proven HSE leadership experience supporting wind energy construction, including EPCs and subcontractors
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and U.S. construction safety standards
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing EPC and subcontractor Safety Management Systems
  • Hands-on experience with working-at-heights programs, fall protection systems, and related safety controls
  • OSHA 30 (Construction) certification required; wind-specific safety training preferred
  • Professional HSE certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST strongly preferred
  • Ability to work full-time on an active construction site in outdoor field conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional HSE certification (CSP, CHST, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
  • Owner-side or EPC governance experience in renewable energy projects
  • Familiarity with TotalEnergies MAESTRO or similar HSE management systems
