HSE Compliance Technician

Location: Des Plaines, IL

Pay Range: $30/hour

About the role

Manage large-scale chemical inventories, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely updates. Oversee SDS management systems, including retrieval, organization, and alignment with hazard communication standards. Administer SAP processes related to materials management and chemical tracking. Apply HMIS classifications and perform hazard assessments to support safe handling and storage practices. Collaborate with HSE professionals to maintain and improve HSE system performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale chemical inventories, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely updates.
• Oversee SDS management systems, including retrieval, organization, and alignment with hazard communication standards.
• Administer SAP processes related to materials management and chemical tracking.
• Apply HMIS classifications and perform hazard assessments to support safe handling and storage practices.
• Collaborate with HSE professionals to maintain and improve HSE system performance.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of OSHA Hazard Communication requirements, GHS labeling standards, and SDS interpretation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in occupational safety, information systems, engineering, environmental science, a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
