HSC Research Associate
About the role
Performs specialized work in investigating prostate cancer progression and therapeutic response through the integration of in vivo and in vitro tumor models, 3D organoid culture systems, prostate biology, and tumor microenvironment (TME) biology. Works in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and interpreting the results for publication. Contributes to manuscripts and publications while collaborating closely with clinicians, computational scientists, and core facilities.
Responsibilities
- Employ genetic perturbation strategies, including knockouts, knockdowns, and overexpression.
- Dissect molecular mechanisms driving disease.
- Design, execute, and optimize rigorous in vivo and in vitro experiments in prostate cancer biology.
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data at laboratory meetings.
- Contribute to manuscripts and publications while collaborating closely with clinicians, computational scientists, and core facilities.
Requirements
- Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree.
- Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
Qualifications
- Ph.D in one of the sciences.
- Research experience in mammalian cell culture, 3D organoid culture, genetic manipulation techniques (KO/KD/OE), in vivo rodent tumor models, IHC/IF staining, fluorescent microscopy, and standard molecular assays such as Western blotting and qRT‑PCR.

Pay
