HS Welding/Shop Teacher
Job Description
The successful candidate will teach high school students in welding and shop classes, providing instruction on safety protocols, basic metalworking techniques, and industry-specific skills.
About the role
This position is responsible for developing lesson plans, grading assignments, and maintaining student records. The teacher will also participate in department meetings and collaborate with other educators to enhance curriculum and student learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
- Assess student progress through quizzes, projects, and exams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
- Participate in professional development activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and resources
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Valid teaching license in the state of Colorado
- Experience teaching welding and/or shop classes preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of industry-standard tools and equipment
- Experience with safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
