Responsibilities
- Maintain and update HRIS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Serve as a primary system administrator or key support resource for HRIS, including employee data changes, system updates, and troubleshooting.
- Perform regular audits of HR data to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and integrations with payroll and benefits platforms.
- Ensure data governance practices are followed, including data privacy and security protocols.
- Generate standard and ad hoc reports related to payroll, headcount, compensation, and HR metrics.
- Support data analysis efforts by providing accurate and timely reporting to HR, Finance, and leadership.
- Assist in maintaining dashboards and reporting tools within HRIS or other platforms.
- Analyze payroll and workforce data to identify trends or anomalies in payroll, variances, and risks and escalate as appropriate.
- Execute end-to-end biweekly payroll processing on a regular cycle ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees, and in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Reconcile payroll prior to processing, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of taxes, garnishments, and other withholdings.
- Manage off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and corrections as needed.
- Ensure proper prevailing wage payments in accordance with contract requirements and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports.
- Partners with Finance on payroll funding, general ledger postings, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure documentation is complete and audit-ready.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and system-related issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure payroll processes and systems remain compliant.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reconciliation.
- Respond to outside inquiries and requests related to employment and income verifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or HRIS administration.
- Demonstrated experience processing payroll and utilizing UKG for reporting, data analysis, and payroll administration.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification, preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations, including FLSA and applicable state laws.
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of prevailing wage payroll requirements, including accurate calculation of wages, fringe benefits, and compliance with applicable federal, state, or local regulations (e.g., Davis-Bacon and related laws, as applicable).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data management.
