About the Role
The HR & Uniform Services Administrative Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to both the Human Resources and Uniform Room teams. This unique role is split between supporting HR operations and helping employees with uniform services, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, organization, and working with people. In this role, you will serve as a resource for employees throughout their employment journey—from assisting with onboarding and employee questions to ensuring team members receive and maintain the uniforms they need to succeed. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Human Resources (Approximately 20 hours/week)
- Greet and assist applicants and employees with questions and paperwork process via walk-ins, phone, and email
- Guide employees through the onboarding process and assist with completing required employment documentation
- Process employee data in Workday in accordance with established standard operating procedures
- Assist with employee records management and maintain accurate personnel files
- Support background check and motor vehicle report processes
- Assist employees with company programs including Perks & Deals, bus passes, discounts, Real Deal, and other employee resources
- Exercise strict confidentiality with personnel information, wage data, medical information, performance management information, and EEO information
- Attend team meetings and provide general administrative support as needed
Uniform Room (Approximately 10 hours/week)
- Distribute and collect employee uniforms
- Assist employees in selecting appropriate uniform sizes and coordinating alterations, repairs, and laundering
- Operate in-house laundry equipment for designated uniform items
- Organize and maintain uniform inventory
- Maintain accurate records of uniform issuance and cleaning
- Prepare employee name tags using an automated engraving machine
- Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient Uniform Room
General Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to employees across all departments
- Maintain positive working relationships consistent with SSRC's Service Excellence standards
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year of general office or administrative experience required
- Previous Human Resources administrative experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to learn to operate an automated nameplate engraving machine
- Ability to operate commercial washer and dryer equipment
- Basic sewing machine skills preferred, but not required
- Ability to clearly speak, read, and understand English; Spanish is a plus
- Communicate clearly in English, both verbal/non-verbal, and written
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Pay
HR Admin Assistant hourly pay range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
HR Uniform Clerk hourly pay range: Starting at $18.50 per hour
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
- Must be able to climb ladders to access high-hanging garments
- Must be able to stand for extended periods while working in the Uniform Room
- Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing administrative duties
- Read, write, and communicate in English in a clear and professional manner; Spanish a plus
