About the role

Sonic Healthcare is an internationally renowned healthcare provider headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Sonic Healthcare UK includes The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) and Health Services Laboratories (HSL), with HSL being a partnership between TDL, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Workday HCM modules (e.g. Core HCM, Business Process Framework, Compensation, Absence, Recruiting)
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for Workday incidents and issues
• Troubleshoot system errors and implement root-cause fixes
• Maintain configuration documentation and solution design artifacts
• Partner with HR teams to understand requirements and translate them into Workday solutions
• Design and optimise Workday business processes, condition rules, notifications, and approvals
• Support HR operational excellence through automation and system enhancement
• Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields
• Support integrations between Workday and third-party systems (e.g. payroll, benefits, Finance)
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and effective use of Workday data
• Maintain Workday security roles, domains, and business process security
• Support GDPR, audit, and internal control requirements
• Participate in access reviews and segregation of duties controls
• Support Workday biannual releases, including impact assessment, testing, and deployment
• Lead or support small enhancement initiatives and system improvements
• Contribute to the HR Systems roadmap and continuous improvement agenda

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Workday HR / HCM System Analyst
• Strong configuration experience in Workday HCM and Business Process Framework
• Solid understanding of end-to-end HR processes (hire to retire)
• Experience building Workday reports and calculated fields
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience with additional modules (e.g. Absence, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, Compensation)
• Exposure to Workday integrations (EIBs, PECI, Studio)
• Experience supporting a Workday implementation or post-go-live optimisation
• Workday certifications
• Experience in regulated or large, complex organisations
