HR Technician II -- Temporary

About the role
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job.
This temporary position is located at 325 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh – Wake County, with the Department of Administration. The initial temporary employment period is anticipated to begin in September 2026 and conclude on June 30, 2026. The employment period could end sooner depending on funding availability and the candidate’s performance.
Responsibilities
- Supporting recruitment efforts and coordinating onboarding activities for new employees using the Workday application and management system.
- Reconciliation of invoices to ensure timely processing and payment accountability related to the employment of temporary employees.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience; or
- 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management Preferences
- Experience using Workday and working within an HR division in North Carolina State Government is preferred.
- A hybrid work option may be available once the Division Director determines the employee is fully prepared to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
Pay
Hourly rate of pay: $20.00 (based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
