HR Service Manager

Provides HR support as a HR service center generalist to assigned budget centers. Offers support and consultation for customers on the entire employee life cycle, including HR processes and functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, and classification and compensation. Ensures the efficient and effective administration of all HR processes and programs.

Responsibilities

• Teamwork and Collaboration (20%): Collaborate with subject matter experts and HR leadership to design, develop, improve, and implement HR programs and processes. Identify continuous improvement opportunities to exceed internal (OHR) and external customer expectations. Act as a leader and change agent for OHR by leading by example, developing new proactive approaches, and providing the full HR Service taxonomy to elevate OHR’s service level.
• HR Consultation and Guidance (20%): Manage all types of personnel requests for assigned employees, working with supervisors, leaders, and HR service teams to proactively and consistently implement organizational changes, compensation actions, and HR strategic business plans within policies and regulations. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for employee performance management and employee relations issues.
• Classification and Compensation Management (30%): Use independent discretion and critical decision-making to support and direct recruiting and compensation needs for the assigned area. Provide guidance on compensation and classification requests, collaborating with the functional Compensation HR and Talent Acquisition teams. Ensure fair and equitable treatment in compensation matters.
• HR Oversight (30%): Provide customer-focused HR support consistent with University, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and regulations. Offer reliable and accurate information and guidance on HR processes and practices. Work constructively and collaboratively across the Clemson HR team to effectively exercise HR processes. Proactively engage with HR customers and university leadership to ensure successful achievement of HR programs, processes, and customer needs. Serve as a subject matter expert in multiple HR functions to meet and exceed customer needs.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree and experience in human resources management programs.
• Firm working knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in varied situations.

Pay

Expected salary range: $63,000 – $67,000. Salary is dependent upon factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills, and performance.

Schedule

Standard hours: 37.5 per week.
