Key Accountabilities
- Administer annual compensation changes and employee reward/incentive payments
- Administer and lead FMLA, Disability and Leaves of Absence cases in partnership with the General Mills Disability Center
- Serve as a local subject matter expert for leave processes
- Manage and lead the Internal Job Bidding process
- Manage and support employee orientation
- Support annual HR processes including Affirmative Action Planning, Benefits Open Enrollment, Data Validation, Engagement Survey Administration, and other initiatives
- Maintain employee personnel files and documentation in compliance with Global Internal Audit standards
- Provide day-to-day HR customer service to all plant employees, including researching and resolving questions or issues
- Provide support to Plant HR Team
- Manage and support employee retirement prep/celebrations, separations, checklists, and unemployment claim administration
- Provide leadership for HR process improvements
- Lead and coordinate safety and training and development initiatives
- Foster a strong working partnership with all functions to support plant objectives
- Create short- and long-term strategies to drive organizational effectiveness, productivity, and improvements in key metrics
- Develop strategies to encourage and develop employees to reach their full potential
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Education
- Proven experience in HR working with all levels of the organization
- Strong positive employee relations skills
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to implement change and resolve conflict
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental HR competencies
- Good analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), Visio, and SharePoint; with a willingness to learn and master other software programs as needed
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills – ability to prepare and analyze HR reports, translate data into recommendations and take appropriate action to achieve desired business results
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or BA/BS Degree
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change
- Experience in Workday and Workbrain
- Demonstrated understanding of technology and ability to create solutions to technical challenges
- Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
- Mature approach to challenging situations and environments
