HR Payroll & Global Mobility Specialist

What You Will Do

  • Manage the full onboarding and offboarding process for Korean expatriate employees throughout their assignment lifecycle.
  • Maintain and monitor personnel records, including visa, immigration, and assignment-related documentation.
  • Cook up visa applications, renewals, extensions, and other immigration activities to ensure compliance with U.S. immigration requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for expatriate employees and their families regarding assignment-related matters.
  • Support expatriate relocation and U.S. transition programs, including:
    • Family support services
    • Housing assistance
    • Medical and insurance guidance
    • General settlement and lifestyle support
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver orientation programs and informational materials covering U.S. living, company policies, and available resources.
  • Research and analyze cost-of-living data, housing market trends, and relocation expenses, preparing reports and recommendations for management.
  • Cross-Border Coordination
    • Coordinate employee assignments, organizational setup, and administrative processes between U.S. and Korea operations.
    • Act as a bilingual liaison between U.S. and Korea teams, facilitating clear communication and collaboration.
    • Provide interpretation services and translate Korean-English business documents as needed.
  • Payroll Processing & Compliance
    • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and expatriate employees across multiple U.S. locations using the ADP payroll system.
    • Review and manage expatriate payroll components, including:
      • Housing allowances
      • Lease vehicle benefits
      • Company reimbursements
      • Educational expenses
      • Medical expenses
      • Parking and rental car costs
      • Other assignment-related benefits
    • Process payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and special payments.
    • Support payroll audits, garnishments, off-cycle payments, and payroll-related reporting.
    • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while providing timely support for employee payroll inquiries.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company payroll policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve utilization of ADP and related HR systems.
    • Recommend and implement operational improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • HR Operations & Administrative Support
    • Respond promptly to requests and inquiries from corporate stakeholders and Korea-based teams.
    • Provide administrative support to HR leadership and department management.
    • Process invoices, purchase requisitions (PRs), and other administrative transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Systems & Special Projects
    • Utilize SAP, SuccessFactors, and other internal systems to support HR operations and ensure data accuracy.
    • Participate in special projects and initiatives that enhance employee services and operational effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve expatriate programs and HR processes.

    What You Will Bring to the Role

    • Fluent in Korean and English (written and verbal).
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
    • Ability to manage highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with ADP Payroll systems.
    • Working knowledge of SAP and SuccessFactors.
    • Experience supporting:
      • Expatriate employees
      • Immigration and visa processes
      • Payroll administration
      • Human Resources operations
      • Experience working in a multinational or cross-cultural business environment.
