We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consulting HR Operations & Accounting Specialist to join our thriving construction team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), SAGE, and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of HR operations, including onboarding, termination, and tracking of employees.
  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality when dealing with employee files and sensitive information.
  • Cook up open enrollment and manage employee benefits, wage garnishments, and deductions.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Oversee the quarterly close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Aid with job costing, providing detailed reports on labor and material costs for each project.
  • Utilize HRIS and SAGE software to streamline HR and accounting processes.
  • Aid with various projects, providing support where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Employment Development Department (EDD) on relevant matters.
  • Participate in cross-training activities to foster a well-rounded understanding of all business operations.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports, utilizing advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, SAGE, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, including onboarding, termination, and employee tracking.
  • Experience with managing employee files and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle wage garnishment and deductions.
  • Proven track record in processing payroll and overseeing the quarterly close process.
  • Experience with job costing and financial reporting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and provide support where necessary.
  • Experience with open enrollment and managing employee benefits.
  • Familiarity with the EDD and relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and cross-training.
