Position Overview

This position is responsible for owning and executing the full spectrum of HR functions, ensuring the organization’s people practices are effective, compliant, and aligned with business priorities.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, approachable, and relationship-focused, with a passion for supporting people. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach where they play a key role in shaping the employee experience, strengthening engagement, and ensuring HR practices are practical and consistent.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee matters, fostering a positive and productive work environment while addressing issues proactively and consistently.
  • Partner with supervisors and frontline leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness and accountability.
  • Ensure consistency in application for performance expectations related to safety, quality, efficiency, and attendance.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for all roles, and support workforce development initiatives.
  • Responsible for processing weekly payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as industry-specific regulations affecting manufacturing operations and must maintain accurate HR records.
  • Maintain and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and systems to support organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee worker’s compensation claims, return to work programs, and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Partner with President for annual benefit renewal, lead benefit administration activities, and lead other employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resource or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resource experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • A PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification is preferred.
  • Strong presence on the manufacturing floor, frequent interaction with hourly employees, supervisors and plant leadership.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with frontline supervisors and managers.
  • Ability to balance employee advocacy with business and production needs.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Working knowledge of all HR related regulations, laws, practices, and procedures.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (database, spreadsheet, MS Office).

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Must be able to navigate industrial areas safely.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and sit for extended periods during different tasks is also required.
