About the role
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of HR functions, with a strong emphasis on managing relationships with staffing agencies, recruiting operational and middle-level staff, and administering employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Staffing:
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for operational and middle-level positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with staffing agencies to source qualified candidates for temporary and permanent positions.
- Evaluate staffing agency performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.
- Conduct background checks and reference checks on potential hires.
- Cook up and participate in job fairs and recruitment events.
- Staff Agency Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staffing agencies, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for temporary staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Track temporary staff hours and approve timesheets.
- Monitor and address performance issues with temporary staff.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with market trends.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and participate in compensation surveys.
- Manage employee benefits enrollment and administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Performance Management:
- Assist with the performance appraisal process, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
- Track employee performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Aid in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
- Training and Development:
- Assist with the development and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Track employee training participation and maintain training records.
- HRIS Management:
- Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS system.
- Generate reports from the HRIS system as needed.
- Aid with HRIS system upgrades and implementations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1 year in a staffing agency management.
- Experience recruiting for operational and middle-level positions.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal regulations.
- Experience administering employee benefits programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
