About the Opportunity

The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic and operational resource across assigned regions, guiding employee relations, labor relations, compliance, and workplace strategy. This role manages complex employee issues, supports union environments, and leads initiatives to improve retention, performance, and organizational effectiveness. The position is critical for ensuring consistent, equitable, and compliant HR practices that enhance employee experience and reduce risk.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary HR advisor for assigned regions on employee relations and performance issues.
  • Coach managers on proactive employee issue resolution.
  • Manage corrective action processes ensuring fairness and documentation.
  • Respond to and resolve employee concerns promptly and compliantly.
  • Conduct thorough, impartial workplace investigations and provide recommendations.
  • Support unionized workforce by applying collective bargaining agreements.
  • Assist with grievance processes and labor-management relations.
  • Analyze turnover trends and partner with leaders on retention strategies.
  • Use HR data to identify risks and implement proactive solutions.
  • Support employee engagement and workforce stability initiatives.
  • Improve performance management processes and coach managers on feedback and goal setting.
  • Partner on performance improvement plans ensuring organizational consistency.
  • Support salary offer development ensuring equity and internal alignment.
  • Provide guidance on compensation decisions, including pay equity.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple states.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership.
  • Develop and update HR policies and ensure consistent application.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support a positive employee experience.
  • Use data to inform leadership decisions and contribute to culture and engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and facilitate HR-related training aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive HR experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including multi-state compliance.
  • Experience supporting remote and onsite workforces across multiple locations.
  • Preferred: HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR.
  • Preferred: Experience in unionized healthcare environments.
  • Preferred: Experience conducting complex workplace investigations.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting compensation decisions.

Pay

  • Washington: $78,164.00 - $145,163.00 annually
  • Alaska: $74,256.00 - $137,904.00 annually
  • Hawaii: $70,348.00 - $130,646.00 annually
  • Indiana, Idaho, Kentucky: $66,439.00 - $123,388.00 annually
