HR Business Analyst, Student Employment Enrollment and Student Administration
Boston University is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Business Analyst to join the Student Employment Office (SEO) within Enrollment & Student Administration. This position plays a critical role in supporting the University's student employment operations by ensuring the accuracy and functionality of systems used for student hiring, payroll, personnel, and position management.
Responsibilities
- Resolve and triage JobX and SAP support requests through ServiceNow.
- Troubleshoot system issues, update employee and organizational data, manage security access, and provide user support.
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus partners. Answer questions and support student employees with employment and system-related issues.
- Provide training and communicate system and process updates.
- Serve as backup for weekly student payroll reconciliation and troubleshoot payroll issues.
- Process SAP audit reports, correct data errors, and resolve hiring issues.
- Analyze business processes and recommend system and workflow improvements.
- Participate in system testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing for upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Enrollment & Student Administration, Human Resources, Payroll, and IS&T to resolve data and system issues and improve business processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience working with enterprise systems or databases (such as SAP or similar ERP systems) is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience analyzing business processes and recommending improvements.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective working relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting HR, payroll, or student employment operations in a higher education environment.
- Experience with JobX, SAP, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise applications.

Pay
Expected hiring range: $65,000 – $70,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and internal pay comparison.
Schedule
This is a full-time, regular position. Remote work is dependent on performance and responsibility. This position is designated as remote-local. The successful candidate must reside within a 3-hour commuting distance of the University to attend occasional in-person events as required.
