Job Summary

Eastern Washington University seeks candidates for a professional Human Resources Associate. The Associate positions serve as the principal consultant for an assigned client areas which could support faculty, classified, exempt, and temporary employees of the university in such functional areas as classification, compensation, employee relations, human resources information systems, organizational structure, recruitment, performance management, training, contract, rule and policy advice. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal consultant for assigned client areas which could support faculty, classified, exempt, and temporary employees of the university in recruitment. The primary focus will be recruitment with some additional responsibilities of performance management; training; contract, rule and policy advice.

About the Role

The Human Resources Associate will provide consultation and guidance to various units within the university, focusing primarily on recruitment processes. This includes collaborating with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies, managing job postings, coordinating interviews, and conducting initial screenings of applicants. Additionally, the role involves assisting with performance management initiatives, including goal setting, feedback sessions, and coaching employees to improve their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent to the university
  • Manage job postings and advertising campaigns to reach potential candidates
  • Coordinate interviews and initial screenings of applicants
  • Assist with performance management initiatives, including goal setting, feedback sessions, and coaching
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure fair and unbiased recruitment practices
  • Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback from departing employees
  • Support the development and implementation of new policies and procedures related to recruitment and performance management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in human resources, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Experience with HRIS systems and software

Qualifications

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
