HR Assistant - Recruiter

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions (e.g., welders, fabricators, machine operators, supervisors)
  • Source candidates using job boards, approved staffing agencies, referrals, and community partnerships
  • Create and update job descriptions and ensure compensation aligns with internal equity and current market data
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate onsite interviews with hiring managers
  • Manage high-volume hiring pipelines while maintaining candidate quality standards
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems (ATS) and ensure accurate candidate documentation
  • Coordinate and attend hiring events, job fairs, and workforce development initiatives
  • Establish and maintain world-class levels of service for hiring teams
  • Ensure all hiring practices comply with EEOC and federal/state employment laws

Onboarding & New Hire Coordination

  • Coordinate new hire orientation logistics and documentation
  • Prepare offer letters, onboarding packets, and pre-employment requirements
  • Facilitate background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification
  • Ensure timely system entry (HRIS/payroll) and badge/access setup
  • Partner with supervisors to ensure smooth onboarding and training alignment

HR Administrative Support

  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with documentation standards
  • Aid with benefits enrollment, employee inquiries, and HR communications
  • Support payroll processing by verifying new hire and status change information
  • Track attendance, turnover metrics, and recruitment KPIs
  • Aid in audits, compliance reporting, and internal investigations as needed

Employee Relations Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Escalate complex issues to HR leadership as appropriate
  • Support disciplinary documentation and performance management processes
