About the Role
The HR & Benefits Administrator is a full-time, non-supervisory HR position supporting employees throughout the entire employment lifecycle. The role has a strong focus on benefits administration, payroll support, leave and accommodation management, HR compliance, employee records, and HR customer service.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, managers, employees, and external benefit providers, the administrator ensures employee programs and HR processes are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. This is a hybrid position based in downtown Seattle, with occasional remote flexibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant HR experience
- Experience with leave and accommodation administration
- Experience supporting recruitment, background checks, reference checks, and onboarding
- Experience with benefits such as:
- ACA
- COBRA
- Medical and dental plans
- 401(k)/403(b)
- FSA/HSA
- Experience supporting annual open enrollment
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Working knowledge of ADA and leave/accommodation regulations
- Payroll and HRIS experience preferred
- Paylocity experience is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records
- Process new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, leaves, and separations
- Support I-9, EEO-1, payroll, personnel file, and other compliance audits
- Respond to employee HR inquiries professionally and accurately
- Administer FMLA, Washington PFML, military leave, ADA accommodations, pregnancy-related accommodations, workers' compensation leave, and other protected leaves
- Manage leave cases from initial request through return-to-work
- Track leave documentation, eligibility, notices, certifications, and deadlines
- Coordinate leave-related payroll and benefits impacts
- Maintain employee information in Paylocity
- Support payroll processing and employee data changes
- Manage benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and vendor communications
- Support COBRA, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, medical, dental, and other benefits
- Coordinate annual open enrollment
- Assist with payroll and benefits audits and reconciliations
- Administer the employee ORCA Card benefit program
- Support recruitment, background checks, reference checks, offers, and onboarding
- Assist with employee offboarding and separation documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee and medical-related information
Schedule
Work Monday–Friday during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work when business needs require. This is a hybrid position based in downtown Seattle, with approved remote flexibility.
