About the role

This part-time swing-shift position keeps the Church Office Building, Conference Center, and Triad Center in Salt Lake City clean, sanitary, and presentable. You will work independently under general supervision, handling moderately complex tasks and reporting safety or security concerns.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, air vents), furniture, equipment, window sills, and walls.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment: vacuums, polishers, buffers, large scrubbers, sweepers, power washers, extraction equipment, balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
• Clean windows and building exteriors.
• Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, and drapes.
• Sanitize areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructed.
• Wet or damp mop floors; dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, window sills, and wood paneling.
• Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials.
• Perform emergency cleanups (floods, bodily fluids, spills).
• Restock supplies; move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
• Remove leaves or snow; respond to on-call requests as needed.
• Handle executive/VIP cleaning assignments.
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certification in the use of sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet cleaning machinery, high-rise power washers, and other equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow basic instructions, complete tasks, and handle issues independently.
• Ability to lift and position objects up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance on an occasional basis.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods.
• Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals.
• Ability to work professionally with others or alone without constant supervision.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and ask clarifying questions as needed.
• Compliance with all regulations for handling chemicals.
• Valid driver’s license; may be required to pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience.
• Experience with project work or executive cleaning.
• Willingness to work outside in all seasons, temperatures, and weather conditions.

Pay

$19.50/hour plus a $1.50/hour swing-shift differential.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday swing shift: 9:30 PM–1:30 AM (20 hours per week).
• Rotating weekends (every 7th Saturday) and scheduled events/holidays.
• On-call responsibilities may be required.
