REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Fire Protection, Chemical, Mechanical, etc.) or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial property risk engineering or loss control.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes and FM Data Sheets.
- Experience with HPR standards and high-hazard manufacturing or industrial facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and well-structured engineering reports.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Readiness to learn and utilize online reporting platforms such as LC360 and similar applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional engineering license or industry certifications (e.g., ARM, CFPS).
- Prior experience with FM, IRI, or other large property carriers / comparable organizations.
- Experience supporting multiple commercial insurance carriers.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) or equivalent insurance workflow platforms.
CONTRACTOR DETAILS
- Engagement as an independent contractor.
- RLI will reimburse you for the 1st year LLC fees after a completing successful trial period.
- RLI provides professional liability and E&O Insurance.
- Home-based position with travel to client sites as required.
- You can accept/decline any job presented.
- Flexible scheduling with assignments based on geographic territory.
- You will be assigned surveys based on your knowledge, qualifications and past/current work experience.
- You can decide how far from home you would like to travel for a site visit (i.e., within a 1-2 hour driving radius, overnight stays, air travel).
